North China

The "heart" of North China is the North China Plain. This region combines Hebei, Shanxi, Heilongjiang , Liaoning , Jilin provinces, and autonomous region - the Inner Mongolia. Here is the city of Beijing - the political and administrative center of China. The city has more than 3 - thousand-year history, and is one of the most popular world capitals.

There are a lot of interesting attractions, cultural and historical monuments, and unique corners of nature in this region. A special place in this list takes the Great Wall of China, which became a symbol of the country. Western China

Western Region of China is very vast. It includes the provinces of Gansu, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, Yunnan, the sub-provincial city Chongqing, as well as the autonomous regions of Ningxia, Xinjiang and Tibet.

Because of its strategic position on the Silk Road, the region has always been important for the whole country. Western China is original, full of cultural and historical monuments region, as it includes a large number of ethnic groups and smaller nationalities. Each of them has its own unique traditions and special holidays.

South-western provinces of China are famous for wonderful mountain sceneries. Poets have praised in their songs this areas fertile lands and amazing beauty of nature two thousand years ago. Exactly here Taoism was born and formed- the doctrine of the great Tao, the universal Law and the Absolute.

The variety of relief and climate of Western China led to the formation of amazing landscapes, corresponding to different climatic zones – starting from the tropics and ending with permafrost. Here is the most luxuriant flora and richest fauna in the country.


Central China

Central China includes the areas along the Yangtze and Huang He River. These are Henan, Hubei and Hunan provinces.

At the moment as far as the strategy of Central China’s expansion is being realized, all the territorial and resource advantages of the region are shown as clear as never before, it is observed an unprecedented intensification of trade and economic contacts with other regions of China and the outside world .

Central China is known for the rich cultural tradition. Probably the most famous attraction of the region is the legendary Shaolin Temple. Many tourists from China and abroad come from far away in this little village in Henan Province on Mount Songshan to visit the famed birthplace of one of the world's most famous martial arts.


South China

South China unites Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan provinces, Guangxi-Zhuang Autonomous Region and also special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau. The island of Taiwan, whose residents consider themselves citizens of the Republic of China, is also a part of southern region of China.

Southerners are much more adventurous than northerners. From time immemorial, they not only traded with all the surrounding countries, but also actively developed new living spaces.

Guangzhou is the administrative center of the province of Guangdong. Guangzhou is the Chinese name of the city, as the Europeans called it Canton. It is the largest economic and cultural center of South China , as well as one of the oldest cities in the world. Guangzhou was founded in the third century BC. Long since it served as a seaport that attracted lots of foreigners.

The brightest place in the South China is the island of Hainan. It is a paradise for tourists, where everyone will find something to enjoy themselves. You can just lie on the white sandy beaches, or go diving, surfing , rafting, underwater hunting , visit primary forests , volcanoes , hot springs and folk villages.

The best time to visit historical sites in China is considered spring and autumn. At this time, daytime temperature is +25 ... +28°C, night temperature is + 17 ... +20°C.


East China

East China includes the following provinces: Anhui, Fujian, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Shandong and Zhejiang, as well as Shanghai Municipality. The region is bordered by the East China and Yellow seas. Its geographical location is rather favourable, coupled with other parts of the country with a dense network of railroads and highways.

Shanghai Economic Region, the part of East China, covers an area of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Fujian, Anhui and Jiangxi provinces.

Shanghai is China's largest city and the first most populous city in the world. It locates in the Yangtze River Delta in eastern China, Shanghai is an important financial and cultural center of the country, as well as the world's largest sea port. There are a lot of buildings of the colonial era, luxury hotels, constructed in collaboration with foreigners, and luxurious European restaurants in Shanghai.
